Headteacher Designates – Brougham Primary School and Rosebrook Primary School
Ad Astra Academy Trust are entering a very exciting phase of its development and would like to appoint two dynamic and ambitious Headteacher Designates for Brougham and Rosebrook Primary Schools. The post at Brougham Primary School will commence on 1st January 2020, or as near as possible thereafter. The post at Rosebrook Primary School will commence after the 2020 Easter holiday break, or as near as possible thereafter.
The successful candidates will work closely with the current Headteachers, who are both commencing phased retirements, and be paid as a Headteacher when the current postholder is on a non-working day. The successful candidates will become the Headteacher of the school on the retirement of the current Headteacher. Both Headteacher posts will attract the salary range of Points 18 – 24 on the Leadership Scale.
The Trust are looking to appoint experienced, inspirational and motivational leaders who:
- Are passionate about children’s learning and development.
- Have excellent leadership, managerial and interpersonal skills.
- Have a strong commitment to maintaining and further developing high standards of teaching and learning and continue to raise standards.
- Can motivate the whole school community.
- Can effectively deploy resources to maximum effect.
- Can lead their school towards achieving and maintaining an ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted judgement.

At Brougham Primary School, the successful candidate will work closely with the current Headteacher for two terms as the Headteacher Designate, being paid as the Headteacher on the one day per week when the current postholder is on a non-working day. The current Headteacher will retire on 31st August 2020, and the successful candidate will become the new Headteacher on 1st September 2020.
In respect of Rosebrook, the successful candidate will work closely with the current Headteacher for two terms as the Headteacher Designate, being paid as the Headteacher on the two days per week when the current postholder is on non-working days. The current Headteacher will retire on 31st December 2020, and the successful candidate will become the new Headteacher on 1st January 2021.
Candidates are asked to demonstrate the skills and experience that they will bring to the posts.

Leading Practitioner (Leading Practitioner Pay Range 3 – 7) Two-year secondment
Brougham Primary School is part of Ad Astra Academy Trust and is on an exciting chapter in the development of the school.
The School is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and highly motivated Leading Practitioner on a two-year secondment. The successful applicant will model and lead the improvements of teaching skills for SEND pupils which includes the strategic development of the school’s SEND provision.
Applicants will be expected to demonstrate that they have extensive knowledge and understanding of how to use and adapt a range of teaching, learning and behaviour management strategies, including how to personalise learning to provide opportunities for all learners to achieve their potential.
